BEER... MY DISCOVERY
Recently black beer seems to be all the rage in Japan. I was on Holiday, and went to spend some time down in Gifu. I was drinking some black beer and the urge just struck me to cook with it. I thought to myself.... If the beer is black, then why not black pepper too. The red miso adds depth and UMAMI, and the sweetness of the honey adds balance. The black beer adds a pleasnt bitterness. These ribs really taste amazing. I highly recomend that you try my new recipe.

2kg Pork ribs
350ml Black beer (Sapporo mugi to hop)
1 tsp of coarsely ground black pepper
120g red miso
2 Tbsp Honey
2 Tsp Grated ginger
Mix all the ingredients together and marinate the pork ribs for min 2 hours. (over night even better). cook on BBQ until done. Be careful as they do burn easily because of the honey and miso.
How to serve.
Serve with cold beer and salad.
BBQ Top Tips
You could also use Asahi super dry black beer or even Guinness. BBQ the ribs at low temp slowly or they will burn easly.
