Jeremiah 29:11-13

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.  Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me and, I will hear you.  You seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.

It was a special day for Timothy. He was about to get a big promotion for his job. When he walked into his boss’s office, he told him that he was fired. Timothy was terribly depressed after he heard the news. He went home right after termination of his job and prayed to God. He prayed that God would help him get a new job and what God’s plans for him were. Timothy wondered why God would do this, he’d worked so hard and now it was for nothing. Tired and worried about the future, Timothy went to bed. A week later Timothy got a call from an unknown number. A job opportunity had opened and would be available next week. The company was offering him double the salary of his past job! Timothy was overjoyed and thanked God for all that he had done for him. Everything had worked out just like God had promised.

Dear Lord,

Thank you for giving me a future and a hope.  Help me understand that You don’t tell me everything about my plans but that they are for the good.    Thank you for always looking out for me.

In Jesus name, Amen

Romans 15:13

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.

Charles was sick, he wasn’t feeling well. His mother came into his bedroom and saw him, she sat on the edge of the bed and tried to comfort him but he thought he would never get better. His mom said Romans 15:13 to him. Charles thought deeply about the verse and its meaning. He was filled with peace and hope, “Thanks mom,” he said. He felt better spiritually.

Dear Heavenly Father, we pray that you would fill us with peace and hope in our times of need, and help us spread your Word to others. We ask that you would help to be great believers in you and to abound us with hope. Amen.

John 2:19

Jesus answered them, ‘’Destroy the temple and I will raise it up in 3 days.’’

It tells us that He is almighty and can do all because he would die and raise himself up in 3 days. It can be comforting to know that you have God’s power on your side to help you not be tempted by sin.

It tells us he will rise in 3 days. It can also make you think of how powerful God is and how he can work that power in you.

This verse shows that God can do powerful things within our lives. Even if we are heart broken he can raise us up. An example would be that God could send you on a mission trip to tell people in Africa about God’s word and Jesus dying on the cross to forgive our sins and save us all from eternal death and the devil.

Will you pray with me?

Dear Gracious Lord, thank you for being almighty and holy. Thank you for dying and rising again to save us from all of our sins. In your name we pray, Amen

John 3:16

For God so loved the world that he gave his only son that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

1.           God loves us so much that he gave his only son.

2.           It makes me think that we have life and salvation.

3.           Would you give your son? God gave his so that means he loves us.

4.           Dear God, we love you and we thank you for sending your son to save us from our sins. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.
