Did you know... Property values & school funds

posted Apr 25, 2017, 8:53 AM by Kiersten Franklin   [ updated Apr 25, 2017, 8:54 AM ]

Did you know that our schools do not get more tax money as property values in our community rise? Though Brecksville and Broadview Heights remain desirable cities, Ohio law prohibits our schools from benefiting from any increases in property value. Instead, we "lock in" to the tax valuations that are place the year a levy passes. The last time we passed a new levy was in 2004. Your support on May 2nd is an investment in our schools, our community, and our future!
