Avoiding the obvious (and v. expensive) choice of red roses, I still wanted to create a passionate and vibrant experience for diners at Espelette. An 'espelette' is a pepper, so this became the inspiration for this weeks design. As well as fishbowls of peppers dotted around the hotel, I included peppers in the hand ties of 'Armani' tulips (these have a cream edge to break up the redness and lovely dark centres). Sexy silver vases were ideal foil to the hot colours, reminding me of 50s automobiles, rockets, etc. The silver also complimented the silver on the leaves of the cyclamen.
