Again this year, we raked in huge profits and had a good time doing it.  Over $7000 in donations and bidding on donated items will help to fund our grants, scholarships, music and art projects and literacy programs.   Wow, what a night!

A Beta Beta Fundraiser for BBEF, our annual garage sale at Tigard High School, was unable to be held this year due to construction at the school.  So our members pitched in with numerous smaller sales, and to date we have over $1300 in the bank, with more trickling in.  These efforts by our members, working together all summer will enable us to continue our Giving Programs for this school year.

Music and Arts projects, Financial Awards, and Literacy projects such as the Little Free Library, Battle of the Books, and the Dictionary distributions will all benefit from these fundraising efforts.

Battle of the Books

Fowler, Hazelbrook, Laurel Ridge, Sherwood and Twality Middle Schools fielded 6-16 teams in last year's Oregon Battle Of the Books competition, with some making it to the "Sweet Sixteen" at Regionals! The Laurel Ridge team, Hyperdiculous, placed third, nearly making it to the finals.
All schools expressed appreciation for the two sets of sixteen novels Beta Beta donated, and they look forward to getting two new sets at the beginning of this school year.

Bridgeport Barnes and Noble has been very helpful with this project.
