Coffee hour pictures on Monday December15th
Well we want to tell you that we had a very exciting morning at Social Hour on Friday December 19th. That was the date that Social Hour featured our Monthly Croissant sandwich, which this time nearly didn’t happen. Why you ask, well when we arrived that morning we entered a fully lighted rec hall, the coffee pots which are on timers were hot but then the building went dark I mean no power at all. Suddenly the little generator outside came on, ran for about 15 seconds. Shut down again then came backed on. This happened three times and it didn’t come back on again. The rec hall was the only place in the entire park which was without power. Glades were called but while we were waiting for them, everyone, at least many of the folks there in the dark all had ideas what was wrong. We finally figured out that the small generator was never designed to power the entire rec hall so we turned off all the lights and fans except the kitchen and the back storage room where the refrigeration is located and low and behold the generator came back on for the kitchen allowing the use of the grills and save the day as we all had the Croissants. I still don’t know why there wasn’t any Glades power in the building as I left after wolfing down my sandwich. Within half an hour after I left, the power was back on and Huff 'n Puff was steaming up the windows. All I can say is God bless the generator.
We have learned that the loss of power in the rec hall was caused by a outside weak circuit breaker. Maintenance will contact a electrician to replace the weak breaker.
