Attention All Veteran's in Buttonwood Bay. Every March, during Spring Fling, the Silver Threads Quilt Group has a presentation honoring selected Veteran's within our park. This program has been ongoing since 2015. To date, we have presented 173 homemade quilts, all made by members of the Silver Threads Quilt Group. To enter this drawing for a homemade quilt the Veteran must be a resident of the park and have never been selected to receive a quilt. Please have the Veterans complete the sign-up sheet which includes name, BWB park address, branch and the years of service. These are available during Thursday sew days at the Community Building between 9-2. The Veteran will need to sign up themselves but if there is an issue coming to the Community Building, we will come to you. Call Denise Schubert at 252-675-8198 for assistance or questions.
The Spring Fling Veterans presentation is a very moving ceremony that they will remember for years. One of our greatest honors is meeting with the recipients and seeing the pride they feel when they are nominated.
Also, please take time to visit the parks Memory Garden and see the plaque recently installed, honoring our vets.
