What is Day of Caring?
This is an opportunity for local residents to make a hands-on impact with United Way partner agencies and see how your United Way contributions are being invested. Small and large teams will help United Way partner agencies and other incredible not-for- profit organizations preform tasks they might not otherwise have the manpower to accomplish. These tasks may include beautifying landscapes or improving facilities.
I always request a facility to work indoors. You would team up with fellow Buttonwood residents and volunteer to help from 8:30 to 11:30am. You will receive a t-shirt and lunch back at our rec hall.
Sign up sheet will be at the Community Center. The dead line to sign up is
April 3, 2026.

Pictures and Rambling
It had to be the coldest day on record for this years RAVER DAY. yes the temperature was only in the low 50's but the wind off the lake certainly made it the coldest. Many like my self, garbed the meal in the Styrofoam container and headed home for lunch. I know I wasn't the only one who did the same. What a surprise when I got home to find a half chicken in the container. My wife claims it was only a quarter chicken, who is to argue it was still great. That was the first time I can remember having Chicken, normally it was shredded pork. You could tell the residents (snowbirds) that came from north of the Mason/Dixon line, they were the ones in shorts or short sleeves shirts and trying to make us southerners think it wasn't cold, it didn't work. Regardless of the weather a huge crowd filled the grove for the annual event. Below we have posted a few pictures of the event.
The sun came out on Thursday, and so did our Gator in the pond by the rec hall.
The picture above is the serving line for the dinner. At 2:45 when I went back to the grove and there was still a line for the chicken dinner, one person told me it was the third line. That would indicate that many didn't go at all due to the weather and that made it so some went through the line at least twice.. Wish that the weather would have been better so everyone could have been there, maybe next year the weather will be better.
SUMMER COMMITTEE
We have had a number of residents asking if the Summer Committee would be holding a Easter dinner, so we contacted the Summer Committee and here is what they had to say.
The Summer Committee has decided not to do an Easter Dinner this year. Our first event will be Bar Poker April 19th.
Line Dance instructions still going strong.
Now our pride and joy, grandson Sean and girl friend Lilly both growing taller everyday.
The last country breakfast for this season
The Country Breakfast chef's are taking a break after everyone was served. They will be back next season to please your palate..
Former J4F band held at concert on the lake pad on Sunday March 22nd. They had a great turnout.
Enjoying the music and the weather.
