What in the world is the picture above? At first I thought it was a Hurricane shot, but after closer look there is no center hole so it's not a Hurricane. I certainly don't know what it is, so let's go to the person who sent it to us.
Ok Johnathan, with the smile on your face please tell us about the picture.
We meant to share this news last week—sorry for the delay! Our family has been hoping to grow and welcome a little girl, but the good Lord had other plans for us. We’re excited to announce that we’ll be welcoming another baby boy next May! While this may not affect everyone or the park directly, we wanted to share this joyful moment with our Buttonwood family. Thank you for being part of our journey and for celebrating with us.
Congratulations to Johnathan and Elizabeth
and now back to work!
Friendly Reminders from the Office
As we wrap up a busy summer, here are a few important reminders and updates for our Buttonwood community:
Thinking of Selling Your Home?
If you're planning to sell, please contact the office to schedule an exterior resale inspection . This needs to take place whether you are selling with park, by owner or using a realtor. We’re also glad to report that from April through October, we’ve helped 18 residents successfully sell their homes! In addition, there was one sale by owner and one through an outside realtor. If you’d like assistance listing your home, Trina or I would be happy to help—just let us know!
RV Parking Reminder
RVs may only be parked in front of your home for up to 48 hours.
Pet Etiquette
Please remember to pick up after your pets and keep them on a leash at all times.
Parking Courtesy
Do not park on RV pads or other residents’ sites without permission. Unauthorized vehicles may be towed—and we’d hate for anyone to be surprised by a tow bill!
Home Pride Shout-Out
A big thank you to everyone who’s been keeping their homes looking great! Your pride in your property is a big part of what makes Buttonwood such a special place to live.
Stay Connected
For updates, events, and community news, be sure to check out these resources:
I was told there will be no cornhole this Saturday due to most residents playing in a tournament.
Sorry for a short message this week I hope everyone has the best weekend!

HEARTLAND FOOD BANK
I want to share a plea from from the food bank. "Every day, countless individuals living in Highlands County go without a basic meal. Families, Children, and the elderly are struggling to make ends meet. At HEARTLAND FOOD BANK, we have been a lifeline for those individuals and families. We are the largest food assistance provider throughout Highlands County and the primary source of food for critical organizations. Food alone isn't enough to operate a successful food bank. There are costs associated with storing, transporting, sorting, shelving donated food as well as warehouse maintenance and staffing. HEARTLAND FOOD BANK is at a crossroad. We are severely underfunded, and our resources are stretched to the breaking point. Today, we are writing to you and humbly ask for your help to keep our doors open. Every dollar you donate directly impacts a family in need. Please, help us prevent this problem and continue our vital work throughout Highlands County. Thank you for your consideration and compassion. " I received this letter last week even before SNAP funds were being withheld. Please, if you can donate even a little bit right now it would help. As usual, the collection table is at 524 Bobwhite Drive. If you have cash to donate, catch Jane or myself and we'll get the funds right to them.
Beginning November 3, Bingo will be on Monday and Thursday. Time during November will still be 6:00, with doors open at 5:30. This will be hard card until January. Please bring only quarters and $1 bills.
A Craft show is scheduled for Saturday, December 6, from 8am-12pm. To reserve a table please call Barb Fluegel, 309-369-0628 or Bonnie Moss 765-413-6976. Tables are limited so please call now. All crafts to be sold must be handcrafted. Resale merchandise or licensing programs are not allowed. (Ex…Tupperware, MaryKay beauty products, Sensy products, essential oils, etc). Please be patient as we work through this change. There is no charge for tables for BWB residents, all non-residents will be charged $10 per table
The Buttonwood bay fishing tournament will be held on November 5th, 7:00 - 12:00. Meet at the fish cleaning station.
Sunday Night At The Movies
With Veterans Day November 11 we always start our movie season with a film in honor and memory of our Veterans. Sunday November 9 we will show the movie "Blitz" a historical war drama film about a 9-year-old boy in World War II London who is evacuated to the countryside by his mother to escape the bombings. Defiant and determined to return to his family, he embarks on an epic, perilous journey back home.
Rated PG-13 2hr
Sunday December 7 will be the movie "The Penguin Lessons". Inspired by the true story of a disillusioned Englishman who went to work in a school in Argentina in 1976. He rescued a penguin from an oil slick to impress a woman, and now he has to pay $50 to the penguin's owner to keep him.
Movies start at 6:30 pm in the Rec Hall. No inflation here, membership cards are still $5 for the whole season and will be available at the door. Bring your own pillow and snacks to enjoy the movie.
Ronnie Beverly 863-414-6808
Winter Karaoke will be held in the Community Center the third Friday of each month at 6:30 .

It's that time of year again when we start to think about packing shoeboxes. Our packing party will be November 15, 2-4 PM at the Rec Hall. Operation Christmas Child provides shoeboxes full of love for children around the world with the purpose of spreading Jesus’s love. Now, we need your help. If you are able, we are in need of toothbrushes, children’s underwear, socks, coloring books and small toys that will fit in a shoebox. OCC has banned soap this year because of problems with the receiving countries. Snowbirds, hopefully you will have room for a small item, to donate, when you fly or drive back to Sebring. We will be back to Buttonwood by the middle of October. Linda Woods at 445 Spoonbill will also collect the items. This will be our eleventh year packing shoeboxes and we have provided almost 4000 shoeboxes for these needy children. Thank you for your dedication over the years!!
Does anyone have plastic totes with lids they would be willing to donate to our group? We are sorting through the donations and find we do not have enough large boxes or totes to place in appropriate categories to take to the Recreation Hall for our packing party in November. If you have a plastic tote you are willing to donate please drop it off at 10138 Red Bud Lane. Thanks so much.
OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD

SATURDAY, NOV 15

Please prepare a short hand written note or photo for each box you pack. Children retain these notes for life. Express Jesus loves them and so do you.
THANKS SO MUCH!
