Troop 113 is located in Bayport, Minnesota, and has been continuously chartered since 1922. We are 93 years old this year! We are sponsored by the American Legion Post 491 and Bethlehem Lutheran Church, both of which are also located in Bayport. We meet every Tuesday, from 6:30PM to 8:00 PM in the basement of Bethlehem Lutheran from November through April, and at the Scout building during the rest of the year. The Scout Building is in the northwestern corner of Lakeside Park at the junction of Central Avenue and Main Street. We are a member of the Great Rivers District in the Northern Star Council.
We are a boy led troop. Our current Senior Patrol Leader is Ben T. The boys control every aspect of the meetings and camps, from where it is to what we eat. We are very active, with one weekend campout a month, and one weeklong summer camp in July at Tomahawk Scout Reservation. In addition, the Troop takes more strenuous high adventure trips for older boys to the three BSA high adventure bases and also to other locations, such as the Porcupine Mountains in Michigan. Weekly meetings have different themes throughout the year from basic camping skills to short field trips, such as touring the Allen S. King plant. In addition to the fun activities we do, the Troop is also very active in the community service-wise, doing projects for the city of Bayport and other service trips.
In addition to all the fun we have, the Troop has a large number of Eagle alumni, and the list continues to grow every year. We work on our advancements at almost every meeting and campout, with Tomahawk being the time for the greatest advancement.
