Club History

The Bay Area Seniors Computer Club (BASCC) was the brainchild of Sergio Vasquez, Al Corliss, and Angie Quinn.  Their vision was one of "give and take" where club members with more computer experience would share their knowledge with those new to the world of computing through meetings with programs.  The first organized meeting was convened February 18, 2000, at the Coos Bay Library where 17 people signed up.  At the second meeting on March 3, 2000, 66 more joined.  Angie Quinn chaired the first meetings.  Together, those 83 constitute what are termed "Charter Members."

Charter Members still in BASCC in 2010 are:

Rose Aers McAlpine
Al Corliss
Cherrill Corliss
Jim Fay
Val Jones
Doris Murray
