Baxter Conservation Area is located along the shores of the Rideau River; 5 minutes south of Kars and North Gower, ON. It is owned and operated by the Rideau Valley Conservation Authority.
Baxter consists of 68 hectares of mixed forest, open meadow, a freshwater pond, nut tree plantation and a beautiful wetland. The five kilometers of trails and boardwalks, beach, group camping area and interpretive center provide wonderful, safe access for excellent outdoor exploration.
This site can be used to obtain information and start the booking processes for Education Programs, Interpretive Centre Bookings, Group Camping Area Bookings and Picnic Shelter Bookings.
