Age Friendly Communities Project

The Age Friendly Communities Project is a collaboration between Downsview Services to Seniors, City of Toronto, Bathurst-Finch Network and the New Horizons program. Together, we’re working with elders in the Bathurst-Finch neighbourhood to identify pressing issues and take action. We’re also partnering with local groups like the Neighbourhood Action Group to improve traffic safety in the Bathurst-Finch area. Stay tuned for upcoming events and activities. And please take a look at our report documenting the ‘age friendly communities’ approach and what it means for Bathurst-Finch.
"It is almost impossible to cross Bathurst Street to go get coffee, (groceries) or to the pharmacy because it is dangerous for pedestrians"

"We suggest a local community bus to come and take us to places such as malls and other places of interest"

"If we could see more benches in the neighbourhood for people who need to rest, that would be an age-friendly improvement"
