This site is here to provide a brief introduction to using the Flixel engine by creating a basis for a platforming game as well as outline some of the various Flixel features that won't be used but may be useful to you in the future.

The goal of this project is to make a small game with a Title Screen and a Play Screen as well as a player that can jump on platforms.  It will look something like this:

Not much prior knowledge is assumed for this project, just basic coding stuff like variable, methods, instantiation, and some minimal Object Oriented concepts.  However most of the code is provided and the complete project is available at the end so even a beginner should be able to do this tutorial.

Before getting started, you will need two things:
Flixel (get the latest Master):

For this tutorial, I used Flixel v2.55.

Download and install FlashDevelop.  When that's done, move on to Setting Up The Project.
