What I Must Do To Be Saved

"What must I do to be saved?"  This question has been asked, in one form or another, for some 2000 years (or more).  It was first asked in Acts 2:37 after the Jews heard the Gospel preached by Peter.  What is interesting about this chapter is that we see all the various steps of salvation performed.  Some steps are implied by the context and others are explicit.  First, let us list the various necessary steps for salvation.  Then, we'll see how these steps occur in Acts 2.

The entire chapter of Acts 2 takes place on the Day of Pentecost in the city of Jerusalem. Pentecost was one of three Jewish religious feasts required by the Law of Moses for Jews to observe each year.  During these feasts, all Jewish males were required to gather in Jerusalem to observe the feast.  So, this day was an ideal day for the apostles of Jesus to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the Jews.
