Barry MacGray has worked as a freelance artist, educational materials salesman, picture framer, microscope technician, and orchid grower, and is currently working as an illustrator. He has exhibited works in a variety of media, technical and natural, both drawings and paintings, all based in realism and communicating both mood and detail. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Botany from the University of Massachusetts and is a graduate of the Program in Scientific Illustration at the University of Washington. He currently resides in the Seattle area.
