Barnton Silver Band got their Festive Season off to a fantastic start with a joint Community Christmas Concert hosted and performed with Barnton Community Primary School on 5th December.  This was the second venture with the school and turned out to be a great success again. As well as the Main Band playing our Training Band also entertained with Jingle Bells. Well done to them.

Led by the enthusiastic Ms Shaw we were also treated to the singing talents of Barnton Community Primary School Choir. Who were just brilliant and it was a pleasure to accompany them during their singing, The musical future of Barnton is in good hands.

Carols with the animals !!With little time to rest some of BSB were out again at Tatton Park Farm the following day on 6th December.  Entertaining people as they wandered around the stable nativity scene complete with real animals.

It was with great pleasure that Barnton Silver Band led the Barnton Village Christmas Tree Light Up the following Tuesday.  This year the venue was at Rosebank School. The rain stayed off and a great time was has by all.

This year saw us take part in our first Stockton Heath Carol service at St Thomas. Thanks to Peter (the church organist) and Penny's organisation skills, the service was a success with some great feedback and an invitation received already to be part of the service in 2015.Barnton Silver Band's photo.

The last Saturday before Christmas saw us return to Sainsbury's supermarket in Northwich.  The band was located in the store and entertained the shoppers of Northwich.  Thanks to the patrons of Sainsbury's who gave so generously that day.

Our 2014 Christmas programme came to an end at the Maypole Inn, Acton Bridge. For the 5th year running the Landlady invited us to be part of their celebrations and we happily accepted.  We were joined by friends and family of the band to make this a wonderful occasion to let our hair down and enjoy ourselves.  Made special by having players such as Carol join us after being away due to work,

Also Jonathon from Faireys joining us that night to play that night on soprano.  Making it a real family affair as his mother Karen got out her flugel too and her husband Chris played cornet.  For an added bonus we were joined by friends of the band folk singers John and Ailsa Booth who led the carol singing that night.

All the best for the season and remember to book the band as early as possible if you want them to play at your 2015 Christmas event.
