Barneleikarringen of Greater Seattle

Nordic folk dancing for children and families.  We learn and perform traditional dances from all the Nordic countries: Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, and Iceland.  This is fun dancing for kids and adults, frequently with live music.

Please join us two Sundays a month from 1:30 to 2:30 (dance) and 3:00 to 4:00 (music).  We dance and then have some snacks and socialize until about 2:45.   After a few minutes on the playground (get the wiggles out) come learn to play the music. If you play fiddle, nyckelharpa, accordion, guitar, bass, or other traditional instrument, come join in the fun. We'll start with tunes for the dancing, but will also work on listening tunes and other "just for fun" tunes.

Our practice season is from mid-September through mid-June.  Our normal location is at the Nordic Heritage Museum, but we may meet at other locations listed below.  Be sure to check the calendar for locations for specific dates.   Sign up your child here on the website or send us an email to get on our mailing list to be informed about meeting dates and locations.
