Bardfest

Due to the ongoing pandemic, Bardfest cannot take place on the planned date in 2021. So...

Please see the FaceBook event page for cancellation details.

We hope that Bardfest will return at a later date.

Bardfest is a celebration of the performing arts across all LRP - whether music, storytelling or dance. It's open to everyone, regardless of whether you're a seasoned bard, an occasional performer or just like to watch and listen.

Daytimes at Bardfest include talks and panels, workshops and showcases, providing opportunities to learn, share or just enjoy the bardic arts. Evenings are given over to an informal party where everyone has the opportunity to join in, sharing songs and stories, playing and dancing into the small hours.

The brainchild of Jamie Wakefield, the first Bardfest took place in 2016 and saw twenty-five bards from multiple LRP systems get together to share and celebrate all things bardic. As testimonials poured in after the event, it became clear that Bardfest had the potential to become an annual event.

Bardfest is not affiliated with any LRP club, system or organisation. All are welcome, whether you play a medieval minstrel, a glamourous flapper or just someone who keeps spirits up in the blackness of space.
