A Dangerous Game
A Dangerous Game
Lilliane Ackerman freezes in place, all emotion slowly draining from her expression as eyes settle intently upon his visage. She takes note of a rather telling detail, one she’d previously missed due to her own personal distractions. He was perspiring. Profusely. Such a physical manifestation was somewhat telling. A new version of reality comes crashing down around her and she smiles, one of cruel and unadulterated delight as she lunges toward him. If successful, her intent would be to execute a firm shove, fingers splaying against his chest as she attempts to push him backward into a nearby stone wall. “You almost had me. Dammit.” The last word is spoken in self admonition. If successful, her hope would be to temporarily knock the wind out of him as her hand dips to liberate the stun gun from her hip. Roan Halostar doesn't see her change of expression as he blinks at the sweat. The impact of her forceful push on his chest and then the hard smack of the concrete against his back comes before he even registers her form hurling at him. His expression turns to sheer suprise as she turns on him, his breath expelled forcefully by the impact of the wall. "You fool!", he hisses on the intake of his next breath, all thoughts of Plan A in the trash. He tries to play on her paranoia again. "You so much as hurt me, you'll never know.... You'll never have my help" His left hand jabs upward, intent on rubbing at and clearing his vision, but moves forcefully to knock any obstructions out of the way while his right hand reaches down settle comfortably on his weapon, finger on the trigger, even though it was holstered. He'd fire through the holster if he needed to..... Lilliane Ackerman: “You’re a liar.” Spoken simply as the stun gun is effectively freed. She attempt to take advantage of his flustered state, arm swinging forward and upward while intending to press the weapon against his neck. If successful, the object would be discharged and a debilitating surge of electricity would render his body temporarily inoperable. Roan Halostar's nose flares with anger and he retorts, "I"m not! You'll s....." His words are cut short abruptly as her stun gun dischages. Starting to spasm uncontrollably, his eyes roll, the whites apearing grotesquely before he collapses to the ground in a heap. Lilliane Ackerman watches as he falls, tongue dragging along the inside of her cheek as she smiles in smug satisfaction. A fluid kneel places her beside his crumpled form. “Really should work on that gland problem of yours.” Her words drip with arrogance as she taps him lightly on the head with the side of the stun gun. She replaces the weapon on her right hip before reaching for the handle of her katar. Her free hand tugs at his shirt, exposing the flesh of lower torso. The assassin’s blade wasn’t the ideal carving weapon but it would suit her purposes well enough. The cut wouldn’t be very deep as a result but she’d make quick work of carving an ’L’ and ’A’ on either side of his navel. Once completed, she’d use his jacket to wipe his blood from the metal before returning the object to its resting place. Arms then slide behind her back as the Derringer is slipped from it’s concealment. Range clearly not an issue, she takes quick aim and squeezes off a single shot into his right knee. In her own twisted rationale, the punishment truly fit the crime. He wouldn’t be stalking anybody else for quite some time. Not to mention, she’d given him something to remember her by. She tilts her head in order to admire her handiwork for a moment longer before turning away. Her work was done and she’d left several projects unattended at the lab. She’d been right after all. He had indeed provided her with a much needed outlet. If she ever saw him on the streets again, she’d be sure to thank him.
My dirty little secret
My dirty little secret
If I had the chance, love I would not hesitate To tell you all the things I never said before Don't tell me it's too late Cause I've relied on my illusion To keep me warm at night And I've denied in my capacity to love I am willing to give up this fight I've been up all night drinking To drown my sorrow down But nothing seems to help me since you've went away I'm so tired of this town Where every tongue is wagging When every back is turned They're telling secrets that should never be revealed There's nothing to be gained from this But disaster Here's a good one Did you hear about my friend? He's embarrassed to be seen now Cause we all know his sins If I had the chance love Oh no, I would not hesitate To tell you all the things I never said before Don't tell me it's too late Cause I've relied on my illusion To keep me warm at night I've denied in my capacity to love I am willing to give up this fight Oh, I am willing to give up this fight -Sarah McLachlan
