Cooking at MK restaurant
MK is a "Suki" restaurant chain in Thailand. Other chains include the famous "Coca" restaurant chain. In Suki restaurants, a group will cook various meats and seafoods in a common pot consisting of boiling water and vegetables. I assume it is called Suki because of the resemblance to Sukiyaki. In other SE Asian countries, this type of restaurant is called "Hot Pot", "Shabu" (Philippines), or "Shabu Shabu" (Indonesia). "Shabu Shabu" means illicit drugs in some countries also !
our country beans were initally coming from this classy restaurant. my colleagues turned it down because she had run out of meat in the pot. although the small bit we tasted had plenty of weevils floating in it, so was packed full of protein nonetheless.
