365 Days - Day 36 - We Won!
365 Days - Day 36 - We Won!
Hello out there, we're on the air,
It's hockey night tonight;
Tension grows, the whistle blows,
And the puck goes down the ice.

The goalie jumps, and the players bump,
The fans all go insane;
Someone roars, "Bobby scores!"
At the good old hockey game.

Oh! The good old hockey game,
Is the best game you can name;
And the best game you can name,
Is the good old Hockey game!

Second period....
Where players dash with skates a-flash,
The home team trails behind;
But they grab the puck and go bursting up,
And they're down across the line.

They storm the crease like bumble bees,
They travel like a burning plane;
We see them slide the puck inside,
It's a one-one hockey game.

Oh! The good old hockey game,
Is the best game you can name;
And the best game you can name,
Is the good old Hockey game!

Third period....
Last game of the playoffs too!
Oh, take me where the hockey players,
Face-off down the rink;
And the Stanley Cup is all filled up,
For the champs who win the drink.

Now the final flick of a hockey stick,
And on one gigantic screen;
Well, the puck is in - the home team wins,
That good old hockey game.

Oh! The good old hockey game,
Is the best game you can name;
And the best game you can name,
Is the good old Hockey game!

Today we drove down to Toronto to watch the first part of the Hockey Hall of Fame Induction Weekend. All or the inductees were presented with their HHOF blazers and had a moment on the microphone. It was general seating in the ACC today with the exception of the Platinum seats. We managed to get seats in the first row of the golds on the end of the rink. Sadly the presentations were at center ice and you were only allowed to bring in a lens up to 75mm. After the game there was a VIP meet and greet with some of the players up in the Air Canada Club. Being a VIP, I was able to get us invited up. The place was PACKED. We were face to face with people like Bobby Hull, Peter Statsney, Borje Salming, Valeri Bure, and of course Lanny McDonald as pictured above. All of the above players took all the time in the world for their fans with the excption of Bobby Hull. He plowed throw the crowd and stayed in the curtained off area during the time we were upstairs. It was great to see all of the stars out playing again but it was disappointing that Brett Hull and Steve Yzerman didn't skate today. It was even more disappointing that they weren't upstairs in the Air Canada Club. All in all it was a pretty good day and it was pretty cheap entertainment.
