Our Mission

By the Grace of God, the mission of Banks United Methodist Church is to allow is to allow the Holy Spirit to inspire and empower God's people though Bible study, prayer, and worship, to witness joyfully and compassionately for Jesus Christ to all people.

About Us
Banks is a church with people of all ages, children as young as 1 and adults in their 80's and 90's.  There are young adults and parents with children of all ages.

We have Sunday school classes for preschool, elementary school, middle and high school age groups.  We also have a youth group for middle and high school students where we learn God's Word, pray together and work on projects to help the needy in addition to enjoying fun activities.  There are currently two adult Sunday school classes, a women's Bible study and a Sunday night Bible study as well.

During our annual Vacation Bible School our kids raise money for various mission projects as well as collecting gifts for needy families at Christmas.  Our church also collects food every Sunday to help the needy in Granville County and provides food to children through the Book Bag Buddies at Wilton Elementary School.  Additionally we support the Ronald McDonald House of Durham and help with various disaster relief efforts and projects throughout the year.  Our United Methodist Women (UMW) meet monthly and supports mission projects to help women and children around the world.

Through our Sunday morning worship and our Sunday evening Bible study we worship our Creator, who sent His only Son so that all who trust in Him may have everlasting life, and grow in relationship with Him and our fellow humans, our neightbors.  By the grace of God we strive for a life free from sin, worry, and fear; filled with love, joy and peace.  Together through the work of the Holy Spirit we are transformed and made into the people of God, who love as God loves.

Come join us as we endeavor to be the people God created us to be and be a part of our rich history of Christian love with a future of hope!
