Maine Alliance for Addiction Recovery

The Maine Alliance for Addiction Recovery is Maine's grassroots organization.  MAAR members support addiction recovery. We want community members to know that recovery works to heal Maine individuals, families, and neighborhoods.  We work to eliminate stigma surrounding addiction recovery through education and advocacy efforts. We strive to let Maine people know that millions are healing from alcohol and drug related problems while living productive lives.  MAAR honors the achievements of those who are in the recovery process. We want our neighbors to know that recovering people are everywhere. We represent countless individuals in long term successful recovery from alcohol and drug dependence.  We, and they, are living proof that recovery works!  Help us spread the word and the hope of recovery.

We welcome support and participation in a variety of ways.  Our members are people in addiction recovery joined with others who work on behalf of recovery.  We respect that members have the right to choose whether to be publicly visible as MAAR members or recovering persons.  While there are many ways that an individual can participate, all who can are asked to contribute yearly dues to support MAAR activities.

For more information about MAAR, please contact Debbie Dettor, MAAR Coordinator, at ddettor@masap.org  We hope to hear from you!
