Omega Seamaster Cosmic 2000 1972
This watch belonged to my Grandad. I just had it overhauled and serviced and it's looking much happier now. It really catches the eye when glimpsed from beneath my Ermenegildo Zegna cuffs and Ferragamo cufflinks :) Omega Seamaster Cosmic 2000 made in 1972. The case is 14ct brushed gold and the movement/bezel is stainless steel. 23 jewel automatic movement. Caliber 1022 I had trouble focusing between the crystal and the dial so in the end I left it up to my Nikon 50mm f/1.4's autofocus. The focus is actually on the crystal so the type on the dial is slightly out of focus but at least you can't see the slight cracks in the dial lacquer. Aperture was set to f/2/2 - Ideally I would have liked about f/5.6 to get the entire watch sharp but I couldn't get the background bokeh I wanted at that aperture unless I moved the background setup back about 6 feet but I didn't have the room. I'll try again another time. Camera Info: Nikon D300 / 50mm @ 1/200 @ f/2.2 @ ISO 200 Strobist Info: SB-900 @ 17mm @ 1/64 through homemade cheese grater grid with pink gel at background. SB-600 @ 24mm @ 1/32 high camera left into 43" reflective umbrella. Homemade reflector low camera right.
