October 2016: Bank of Ireland has announced that Enterprise Town will be coming to Bandon on Friday, 7th October from 5pm-8pm and Saturday, 8th October from 10am-1pm in the Riverview Shopping Centre, Bandon, Co. Cork. The events will feature a Business, Community and Sports Expo as well as plenty of family friendly activities. The Bank of Ireland Enterprise Town event has been organised by the Bank in partnership with the local community. The initiative aims to promote enterprise and drive business momentum for local businesses and the wider sports and social community in Bandon and surrounding areas by connecting with the communities in these areas to showcase what the area has to offer. Events are free to attend for all the family and are open to both customers and non-customers of Bank of Ireland.

 Over 70 exhibitors are already registered with more expected. A Business Expo will take place on Friday, with Gavin Duffy of Dragons Den hosting a panel discussion. Participants include Gerard Brickley, CEO Bandon Co-op, Micheal Brennan from SMBCLIX and Kate Ryan from Flavour.ie.

 On Saturday, at the Sports and Community Expo, a panel discussion is being chaired by Liam Sheedy, All Ireland Winning Hurling Manager. Other participants include Deirdre Hosford of Operation Transformation, Brian O Driscoll, Cork Senior Footballer and Laura McSweeney, European Champion Athlete. Other clubs and organisations getting involved include Athletics, GAA, Karate and Martial Arts, the Rotary Club, Mens Shed, Scouts, Tidy Towns, the Walking Club, RNLI and West Cork MABS.

 There is something for everyone with lots of activities for all age groups including performances from Ballinspittle Cheoltas, Newcestown Cheoltas, a ballet troupe and face-painting for the kids. Music will be provided by local band ‘The Shruggs’. Elmarie Mawe of 96FM will compere a fashion show, featuring local boutiques, Bank of Ireland’s BizWorld awards and local school awards are also showcased during the extensive programme of events.
