9. Dancewear for Ballet Class

Girls' Uniform:
  • Simple black leotard 
    • Primary levels 1, 2, 3 wear short-sleeved or long-sleeved, black only (no colors, no embellishments, no skirts)
    • Cecchetti Grade 1 and above should also have a black "camisole" style (modest "square" front and modest "square" back that does not scoop low). 
    • Those in Cecchetti Grade 3 and above may choose also to have a color other than black. 
    • N.B.: no "tank" style (sometimes called "sleeveless").  These are not permitted at any level. 
  • Light pink ballet tights with feet (regular foot or "convertible," but no footless). Convertible tights required for PBT.
  • Pink ballet shoes (preferred shoe is Capezio's "Juliet."  A soft split-sole shoe tends to fit best; other approved brands are SoDanca or Bloch or Sansha.   NB: not Payless/ABT, not Target not Walmart etc. ballet shoes)
Boys' Uniform:
  • On the legs:    men's black ballet tights or close-fitting "bicycle" shorts or pants
  • On the torso:   white t-shirt (close-fitting, not baggy; no logos)
  • On the feet:     ballet shoes (either white or black; leather preferred up to age 8) AND white socks (well-fitted)
