Kemetic Yoga emerges from one of the oldest known civilizations in ancient Egypt, also known as Kemet, in Northeastern Africa. The modern version of this ancient system was developed from primary research conducted in the 1970′s by Dr. Asar Hapi and Master Yirser Ra Hotep (Elvrid Lawrence), as well as Muata and Karen Ashby who studied, translated, and interpreted the hieroglyphic texts and images of Yoga postures that appeared on Kemetic temple walls.
This healing, regenerative system of Yoga is characterized by a series of geometrically progressive postures that encourage proper spinal column alignment, correct defects in the skeletal muscular system to relieve stress, and increase circulation to the body’s vital systems, allowing internal life force energy to flow more efficiently and abundantly throughout the body.
