Flashback 21 years......tagged once again
On Explore #494, December 24, 2008 Ok, I have been tagged once again and have put together 16 tidbits of random information about myself.....don't worry I will not be tagging those of you who view or comment.........grin!!! 1. This is a scanned photo of me taken 21 years ago; check that hair and the stonewashed jacket and jeans, embarrassing, embarrassing!! 2. I am a very private person, always have been, that’s one reason why you don’t see self-portraits on my stream. I will tell you though I have a twin sister, another sister, and four brothers, my twin and I are the oldest. 3. Although private in my personal life, I can talk to anyone, any time and am comfortable doing so, just ask someone who knows me….lol 4. My favorite color is black 5. I drive a Nissan Maxima SE, black of course 6. For two years, grades 5 & 6, I attended a one room school house in the country……and no I am not that old….lol, it just happened that way. 7. My favorite food is East Indian and when that isn’t available anything spicy will do. 8. I have a fairly high profile job that is becoming more demanding, but I work with a terrific group of professional people, that keeps a smile on my face and keeps me coming to work. 9. I have had assignments all over the world and have had some incredible experiences, but the most memorable are of the people I have met. 10. I once circled the world in one trip, although with many stops. 11. In the late 80’s I had my own color darkroom and used Nikon equipment, now with digital I use Canon exclusively, I like their lenses. 12. I was raised on two cattle and grain farms, the first right near the Alberta/Saskatchewan border, the second near Neepawa Manitoba. I would be happiest if I never saw another milk cow in my life…lol 13. If I have learned anything about the merits of photography over the last year, it is from the wonderful folks I have met on flickr 14. My son turned 18 on December 18 this year. 15. I am a die hard Mac user thanks to my good personal friend Phil (WpgBuzz on flickr) and I have joined his crusade to rid the world of windows pcs …….lol, just kidding sort of… 16. After reading all this I am still a private person and you have learned little more about me….grin!!
Old and Forgotten
Old and Forgotten
The Threshing Machine (or simply Thresher) was invented (c.1784) by Scottish mechanical engineer Andrew Meikle for use in agriculture. It was used to separate grain from stalks and husks. For thousands of years, grain was separated by hand with flails. Today Combines are used to separate grain.
