Jon Spencer's Heavy Trash performed 3 special shows on the Frau Hedi boat as it sailed around the St. Pauli harbor. There were 3 shows at 7pm, 8pm, and 9pm. I was at the 8pm gig, the one where the bassist thought it was a good idea to place the fish broetchen tray on the pipes above the drummer. Do I need to tell you that eventually the tray of matjes filet rolls came crashing down on the drummer near the end of the set, resulting in a short fish-fight? Flying fish. The sound on the boat was surprisingly awesome and crisp- no distortion and later the view was incredible as the sun was beginning to set.
