I made this this a while ago, so I don't have any construction pics. I had an empty nes case laying around because I used the guts to make a portable nes (no pics, sold it), and a busted up old N64 that I got from the local recycle center. I thought it would be fun to put the N64 in the nes case, and it was. Being the first N64 mod I had ever done I didn't know what to expect to find inside the case, but soon found it to be the easiest system to mod I had ever done. I will be selling it on eBay soon. Link (not yet) To make it more NES like it only has mono sound. OMG... look at all that heat melt glue... Note that the board is backward... so that the cartridge faces up. The most annoying part of the mod... Not that you can see it under all that glue, but each port has a bright red led behind it... looks cool in the dark. Also you can see the reset switch, the original one was broken, and the N64 has a unusual reset button. Still didn't get it right, you have to push it twice, but it works. Had to cut down the heat sink... well not cut as I was out of hacksaw blades... more butcher with blunt tin snips. Cartridge sits in nicely. Note the red light coming from the side vents. |
