The Basics about Dr. Dan

Dan Baczkowski is a tenured Associate Professor in the Department of Mathematics at The University of Findlay.  He researches both mathematical and building science related problems and has been funded through the United States Air Force SFFP.  While professionally a mathematician, some of his hobbies and other interests include optimizing and improving-type problems in HVAC, building science, and drainage design. 

More interesting and desultory facts about Dr. Dan

Dr. Dan studied at Kent State University, Miami University, and the University of South Carolina.  During his time in the South, he adopted the casual friendliness ubiquitous there and now says “Hello” to everyone he passes.  He has a beautiful and talented wife, for whom he is increasingly and unendingly grateful.  They have been married since 2006.  He is father to a mini-me son and a daughter who takes after her mom, and they enjoy waking up early to play games before work.  He loves teaching and makes it a priority to improve his classroom technique at every opportunity. He is enthralled with the beauty of his subject, mathematics, and passionately shares this with his students.  His research involves number theory related ideas, and his students all agree that math is their favorite subject.  He enjoys being outdoors and has become an avid tea drinker.​  He has been obsessively fascinated with building science, air quality, and drainage design.  He has obtained several building science certifications and owns a Retrotec blower door for weatherization testing.
