3D Technology Checklist
This product is 3D-related. To help you get a great 3D experience, use the checklist below to ensure you have everything you need. 3D viewing requires:
A Display
First, you'll need a 3D-ready display--whether it's a 3D HDTV, 3D projector, or 3D computer monitor. These displays have more processing power than standard 2D models for displaying 3D images in rapid succession.
A Source
Your display may be ready for 3D playback, but you'll still need a device to read 3D content. This can be a cable box with a subscription to a 3D channel, a 3D Blu-ray Disc player, or a PlayStation 3 system.
3D Content
3D content--the actual entertainment, in other words--will be played back using the source mentioned above, whether it's a 3D broadcast from your cable provider, a 3D Blu-ray Disc, or a 3D video game.
3D Glasses
For now, the vast majority of 3D HDTVs require glasses for 3D viewing. Many use powered "active shutter" glasses, others polarized "passive" glasses. You'll need one pair per viewer, and they'll have to be compatible with your display, whether they're the same brand, or a pair of "universal" glasses designed to work across brands.
HDMI Cable
To connect your source (such as a 3D Blu-ray Disc player) to your display, you'll need a high-speed HDMI cable. Cables with this designation feature bandwidth speeds up to 10.2 Gbps (gigabits per second), for carrying the 3D signal without any loss of quality.

Friday's photo; Friday was super fantastic! I had photography class from 9-5 and guess what we did in the morning?! We went in a ROOM SIZE CAMERA. I know that sounds so crazy, and just totally insane but it's actually the simplest thing ever. When I was going to walk into the room sized camera (which was just a couple rooms down from my class) I expected this room that was all black, with all of these different buttons, and gears, and just something really crazy and complicated. But no! Just a room painted white, totally normal. Nothing out of the ordinary at all. Except for a wooden plank over the window with a hole through the middle of it. So Mitch turns off the lights, and we see projected on all of the walls, an upsidedown and backwards train station, cars, trees, people walking by, and everything. You could see the trees swaying, the train moving, everything was just so crazy. The colors were even projected onto the wall. It was so interesting. Then someone asked how to focus it more, so Mitch grabs another plank with a smaller hole through it, and puts it over the window, and then everything is in focus, but the colors are saturated. it was so interesting, I was so amazed. I know this sounds really lame, but I actually got goosebumps. Then Mitch said he was going to get a lens... A LENS?!! This thing has a lens?! It was just a screen. That's it. A little square screen, only a little bit larger than a textbook. he puts it over the window and everything is blurry and unfocused, but really bright, he brings it in closer and closer to the window, and everything becomes more focused and also more saturated. It was the simplest thing ever, but it was the coolest thing ever at the same time! AH! I'm going to go there before the semester is over with my tripod and camera to show you guys everything. It's just so cool. By the way, the room size camera, goes back to the idea of the camera obscura. Look it up. Some fascinating stuff. ANYWAYS after class, Lizzie, Erin, and I went to the Chinook mall. We went shopping, checked out the whole place, and went to see the movie Easy A. The movie was alright. It was funny, but not hilarious. Meh. :P After that we went back to res, headed up to Laurel's for a bit and then the night was pretty much over. Great day/night though. :D AND THIS PICTURE holy crap apple store I wanted to go look inside but from the look of all the people that were there, I just couldn't bring myself to do it. Scaaary!

This will be the first day I start using a red filter for my black & whites. It really makes a difference. Normally I use Lightroom to add a little punch to my shots. Nothing major, only slight adjustments like black levels and curves, some straightening and a crop here or there. These are straight off the camera. They gave some interesting results in some of the shots and well worth the stop of light I lose. Inglewood is filled with little antique shops, so if you like nostalgia via architecture and shops, this is Calgary’s central for such a thing. Buyer beware, I saw some antique cameras severely overpriced; stick to eBay. During our walk, my wife and I ran into a couple of old co-worker’s of mine during a trip down the back alley (could be worse), so I had a few drinks at Ironwood then snapped off my last few exposures. I may have had to straighten a couple.

Peugeot PM20385 Chateauneuf u Select 9.5 Inch Salt Mill, Black Matte
Since 1842, Peugeot has been creating innovative and attractive mills. Peugeot now offers the U-Select patented grinding mechanism which has pre-selectable grind adjustments.

An exceptional gift for the salt or pepper connoisseur, Chateauneuf pepper and salt mills from Peugeot are traditionally styled of turned hardwood and handsomely accented with brushed, 18/10 stainless-steel bands. Also steel, the round ball nut on top of each mill unscrews the dome for filling with peppercorns and salt. Differing from other models, the Chateauneuf offers a U-Select feature, which designates six settings on the lower steel band of the pepper mill for precision grinding ranging from coarse to fine, and three settings on the salt mill. The other main difference between the salt and pepper mills lies in the grinding mechanism itself. Peugeot pepper mills use case-hardened-steel grinding heads with two sizes of grooves; the larger grooves crack the peppercorns in half and direct them into the smaller grooves, which grind them much more finely than most mills. The grinding mechanism in Peugeot salt mills is purposefully constructed with 18/10 stainless-steel, which won't corrode from prolonged contact with the salt.
Chateauneuf pepper and salt mills come in two sizes, 9 or 11-3/4 inches, and in several finishes, including matte black, matte red, and cherry. Care for a mill is easy: clean the exterior and inner chamber with a damp cloth; never immerse in water; avoid putting salt in the pepper mill, or grinding green or pink peppercorns by themselves (mixed with black is fine); and avoid damp types of salt (usually pink or gray) in the regular salt mill. Made in France, Peugeot mills are covered by a two-year replacement policy, while the grinding mechanism is covered by a lifetime warranty. Peugeot has been a leading manufacturer of pepper mills since the 1840s, and is a brand preferred by many restaurants and chefs. --Ann Bieri
