    transfer paper
  • In lithography, instead of drawing directly on the stone or plate, the artist can draw on transfer paper, a sheet of paper that has been covered with a soluble surface layer.
  • a paper that is coated with a preparation for transferring a design to another surface
  • Transfer paper is used in textiles and arts & crafts projects. Often, an ink-jet or other printer is used to print the image on transfer paper. Then a heat press can be used to transfer the image onto clothing, canvas, or other surface. Transfer paper is used in creating iron-ons.

  • A T-shirt (T shirt or tee) is a shirt which is pulled on over the head to cover most of a person's torso. A T-shirt is usually buttonless and collarless, with a round neck and short sleeves.

  • jersey: a close-fitting pullover shirt
  • T Shirt is a 1976 album by Loudon Wainwright III. Unlike his earlier records, this (and the subsequent 'Final Exam') saw Wainwright adopt a full blown rock band (Slowtrain) - though there are acoustic songs on T-Shirt, including a talking blues.

Madame Butterfly Fabric Book pg 3
Madame Butterfly Fabric Book pg 3
To make this fabric book page..... I dyed some silk with tea & walnut ink powder, for the background. The image of the lady is a rubber stamp print that I scanned and altered in photoshop so it was sepia not black. I then printed the image on to iron-on t-shirt transfer paper with an inkjet printer. The paper I use is the stuff for black or dark t-shirts (not white t-shirts) it is kind of plasticy but you can sew through it. you can iron it over fabric seams like I have here. I then sewed beads and other embelishments on and stitched around the edge. Not quite finished yet - will post finished version

Experiment, iron transfer onto baked clay
Trying a new way of putting transfers onto clay.Using a piece of baked clay with a nice flat base , use the black t-shirt transfer paper , This was an old pendant , not too flat but worked ok except for the bumpy side. Will do on a nice flat surface next try! Could use on different baked shapes.
