Well, this is pretty crazy. Thursday I will be 36 weeks. I get tested for GBS this week at my appointment. If I were to go into labor late next week, I could go to the birth center to have my baby instead of the hospital. This means that I am very pregnant ... what they call "FULL TERM" next week. Ahhh!!!!!! Work, for me, has been really crazy lately, which is not particularly pleasant at this giganto pregnant stage. 12 hour days are long ... but they seem even longer when you are carrying around 30 extra pounds, are on your feet most of the day, and 2 days in a row you eat your lunch while you are charting. So after a 3 day in a row stretch last week, a 5 day vacation was very welcome! We took our last trip out of town for Thanksgiving last week. Steve and I headed to Asheville to see my family and it was a nice, relaxing vacation. We slept, ate good food, and toasted in front of the fire. Bork decreased the amount of food that I was able to eat on Thanksgiving, but I still did pretty good. Nothing better than my mom's turkey and sweet potatoes and my own apple pear cranberry pie ... So anyways, we are getting closer. We have a labor bag and a birth plan started, and an iPod playlist in the making. We have a car seat and a stroller, a crib, a cosleeper ... and some names picked out. Will we be prepared? I've heard all you really need are a few diapers and your boobs and everything should be okay. Wow. I think we're gonna do this.

We saw our OB for my 36 week check up yesterday. Sydney is measuring 6lbs 4oz and is doing well. She had the hiccups during the entire ultrasound. It's looking like my labor will be induced on the 29th of January, provided Sydney doesn't have plans to make her grand entrance into the world before then. Yesterday as we stood at the counter making our appointment for next week, Ty spotted a calendar and realized the 29th is only 3 weeks away. He turned to me and said "You realize next week we'll be saying The week after next? And the week after that we'll be saying NEXT WEEK? 3 weeks is not that long. I've blinked and lost 3 weeks before!" I think what he was trying to say is she'll be here before we know it!
