About Us

Hello! I'm Misty, and it's nice to have you visit! Let me tell you what this is all about...
I started the Addiction Baby Company (ABC) as a way to support parents who don't mind admitting that they are addicted to their kids! A lot of parents want to keep their children involved in their day to day lives, but it gets really hard when you have only 2 arms and your little monkey wants to be in them all the time. :-) I researched a lot of ways to include my own little monkey in my day to day activities without breaking my back or hurting my shoulder even more. After finding a few designs, I realized that not only was I going to have to carry my little monkey, but would need to carry diapers, wipes, a bottle, a toy, a blanket... I live in Ohio and it's cold up here, man! So I decided to try to make something for myself instead of shopping around, and I came up with a carrier that I think works great for those of us who like to keep our little monkeys close, but hate having our hands full. I made my own design and for a few years I sold my own baby carriers to others who were interested in the same style I was. However, life gets busy and our priorities change (and our little ones grow!) so I no longer manufacture baby carriers.

Over the last 10 years, I've grown and learned so much about baby wearing and many other things that I researched as part of this venture. I hate to waste that knowledge and all the little links and research that contributed to my own parenting. Therefore, I decided to keep this webpage and my Facebook page in order to show support for other parents. Parent shaming is becoming such a harsh habit in the world, so I want to be the counter part to that and remind everyone that a "parent" comes in all shapes, sizes, colors, and variations. No two parents are alike and no two children are alike... therefore not everyone does everything the same. We do what works, and when it stops working, we change. Everyone makes mistakes, so let's be more forgiving because it's a rough road when you live in a glass house and you throw stones. ;-)

God Bless you all and I hope that your days have lots of sunshine, are full of laughter, and end with the peaceful bliss of deep sleep and sweet dreams.
