Ayoob is really knowledgeable about symbolic logic, and it shows in his command of the examples used in class and his responses to questions. He structured this course really well with the exams and lecture content, and taught us exactly what we needed to know in very clear explanations. This is especially commendable considering how challenging the material could be, but he was able to simplify it and translate it so we could understand. His appreciation for the subject is clear from the way he discusses the material, and you can tell that he wants his students to succeed and will do anything to help them do so. Even for students who were struggling with the course material, he was open with his office hours and even meeting after classes to go over material. Ayoob clearly has high standards for his students which pushes them to do better, but his standards are reasonable considering the amount of effort that he puts into teaching. I really never write CAPEs reviews this long, but Ayoob had an impact on me as a student and my interest in this subject that I thought was well worth this effort.
He explains very well and is very passionate about logic. He talks slowly and clearly, which is easy to understand. The visual board is very clear to read and understand. He is very approachable and tries to accommodate students' needs and for OSD students. He put in extra effort to edit the textbook. Overall, he made this class easier to understand and able to complete the materials in a short period for the summer class. I don't think I could ask for anything more other than perhaps having him teach more classes. He will be a great philosophy professor.
