Sew down each of the pleats from the top of the gore toward the back of the pleat at about a 60 degree angle. Snip off the top of the pleat to reduce bulk. The top of the gore is toward my thumb, the grain running parallel with my fingers. The stitching is parallel to the needle, for those of you who can't see it clearly.
