AWM Chapter receives Professional Development Award


We are happy to announce that the Purdue Chapter of the Association for Women in Mathematics (AWM) has been awarded with the 2018 AWM Student Chapter Award for Professional Development from the national Association of Women in Mathematics. Awardee chapters are selected by nomination annually.

The purpose of this award is to reward a student chapter for its recruitment and development of students’ professional involvement in mathematics i.e., mentoring program run by graduate students for undergraduates headed to graduate school, development of a substantial program to prepare students for their next professional steps by giving talks, writing expository or research articles, inviting alumni and other speakers to discuss a range of professional opportunities in mathematics and related fields.

The AWM Student Chapter Award for Professional Development will be presented at MathFest in Denver, CO, on Friday, August 3rd at the MAA.
