Women in Science Day 2006 The mission of the Saint Louis Regional Chapter of the Association for Women in Science is to promote a positive environment for women in the larger scientific community through education, advocacy, and outreach. We work to increase the available mentoring and networking resources for women at all stages of their scientific careers by sponsoring workshops and by holding social gatherings for AWIS members. We also work to improve the perception of women within the scientific community by increasing recognition for the accomplishments of female scientists.

AWIS, and AWIS events, is open to all women and men of the St. Louis scientific community concerned with promoting a positive environment for women in the larger scientific community, at all levels of scientific training, in all manners of scientific pursuit.

Information on our chapter meetings, messages from national AWIS, and other issues of interest to the science community are available by subscribing to our email list. Members and non-members are welcome to join our mailing list by heading to http://groups.yahoo.com/group/awis-stlouis/ to sign up.

If you are interested in joining AWIS, please go to National AWIS to register and join our local chapter. To get involved in St. Louis area events and planning, contact us. We look forward to meeting you!
