I have moved since my last post. Both physically, which is a good thing, and mentally which I hope will give me some sort of stability. The place I now occupy is on the top floor of a 3 floor house which gives me some sort of isolation from the rest of the housemates who has the unfortunate view of this oddball trudging through several flights of stairs to and from work everyday. My Ex is of course understandably worried as she feels that my isolation is complete in that she has no chance of looking into me on a daily basis and she fears that old habits will creep back into me. She is right of course as in the last two weeks, I have already started counting calories and watching the pounds drop. And day in, day out, I am starting to get obsessed by how many footsteps I should take everyday in the effort of loosing more weight. I don't know why, but it just feels that its the only thing I am good at. I don't actually remember the last time I was told that I was good at something, or complimented for something I had done. Actually I do. It was several years ago when I was several stones lighter. It was the year of many hugs and kisses and being told that I 'looked better'. It was also the time when I was in control of myself and believed that I could achieve wonderful things. Simply by losing weight. My Ex came over today after sensing that I needed to speak to someone. She instinctively knew, by the sound of my voice over the phone that I needed to have someone beside me for just a while. But when she was here, I simply clammed up again. Resorting to cordiality when I needed to talk to someone. But I couldn't talk to her. Come to think of it, I find that I can't really talk to anyone nowdays, though I still struggle to. There is so much I want to talk about and to share with if only someone will listen. But there simply comes a point when unsaid thoughts form an impenetrable wall around me. A wall reinforced by a fabric of black and smoked glass about my eyes. Not to mention the whole new persona I have to create when I step outside my front door. I bad start I should say. For I am already thinking of how to reach size zero again. Perhaps then it will bring about a new year of hugs and kisses.

A friend of mine convinced to try this app, and it's been helpful and even motivating to use it. We can even check each other's progress which is pretty cool. I've never been much of a calorie counting person but using this has definitely educated me on what I eat. Of course there are times, when I just say screw it but I definitely think twice before eating 200 empty calories (say a donut) versus eating something like fruit or a whole bowl of broccoli-which isn't always fun to eat but way more filling. Today I ran my 8 miles and burned approx 1234 calories. When this shot was taken in the evening, I was still in the negative realm. I really want to pig out more today but I'm kinda tired of eating now to even try to break even. Heh. It's pretty hilarious looking at these numbers but it definitely motivates me to run more. I didn't realize how much calories I could burn running. :D Anyway, I'm losing my mind!!! More so than I am actually losing weight. Hahahaha. Despite all this calorie counting BS and working out, I haven't really lost weight. Maybe inches but the scale is my mortal enemy! I've stopped checking my weight everyday now. I've shifted the focus to more working on my fitness rather than weight loss. I'd rather be strong than a skinny twig any day. Right?!!!! ;-) Still, I can't help but count calories now. Damn you, Glenn, tis all your fault!
