(My first boost car) Cleannnn interior. Well maintained inside. Car has serious potential. Reasons for selling: I goto college full-time and work part time on 3rd shift. My dad has some serious health issues that has been really stressful on me and my family. The car just adds to my stress because I don't make enough money to maintain a DSM. I had a scare with the oil pressure, but it was a common problem with the oil pressure sending unit. The wire was barely connected. All is good now. Showdown said the oil pressure was normal. That scare alone did it for me. Way too much stress. The car is not for me. I guess I am not ready for this type of car or in any financial position to keep it. Fixed 2 oil drips from hoses, clean them and reclamped them tighter. I have been checking the oil everyday and its constantly full. PRICE: $4,000 Priced to sell. No trades

I bought this MX-5 last month after selling my 98 Jetta K2. I was tired of having a car that rolled when it cornered along with an engine that just didn't want to go quickly. Mazda is pretty much the only Japanese car company I can stand. Mazda and Subaru, but Subaru is far less affordable.
The MX-5 Miata is heavily influenced by the British Roadster, the Lotus Elan in particular. I'm all about keeping cars light and agile, just like those old elans, austin healeys, caterhams, ariels, etc...(although this is no caterham or atom). It might get its doors blown off in the straights, but it will take over in the bends with its 50/50 weight distribution and rear wheel drive. Do not underestimate the most popular sports car ever.
Being a 95 with 158k miles, its a rolling project that works. New wheels and tires are the first step, new soft top for winter is next, along with new suspension (even though the miata is stock with coil overs) lowering it about an inch is after that. Then we'll see what the engine needs (turbo? supercharge? or just high flow bits).
I have no intention of tracking or racing it, as I get my kicks in the Berkeley and Oakland hills which only take 5 minutes to get to from where I live. However, the miata was pretty much made for Autocross and I'm sure it would perform beautifully in the right hands. I just can't afford to go through brakes and tires that fast.
