Let's find out a bit more about iconic places in Australia and its people. Watch this video:

There a lot of well known places in Australia and even if you have never been to this country, you will probably have heard of them or seen them on TV.

LISTENING AND SPEAKING. After watching the video, answer the following questions orally:

  • What does the Indigenous man say about Indigenous people from Australia?

  • What are the Indigenous stories associated with?

  • Why don't they need to write their stories down?

  • Why is Nature so important for the Aborigines?

  • What famous places do you know in Australia? Can you identify any of them in the video?

  • Have you ever been to Australia? If not, would you like to? Why? Why not?

TASK. Imagine you are going to Australia and you want to design a Google Map with the places you would like to visit and information about them. Read the tutorial on how to create a Google Map and start working. Make sure you include most of the places mentioned in the book you are reading: Sydney, Bondi Beach, The Great Barrier Reef, Melbourne, Brisbane, Uluru, Arnhem Land, Darwin,...). Your work will be presented orally to the rest of your classmates. The oral presentations will start on Monday, 7th November.
