I'm not really a sports person, so I'm not sure what this is officially called. But it's in a field of old football practice equipment that is near my brother's baseball field. A great place to take pictures. Blur on Purpose has caused me grief. The point and shoot that I'm using keeps focusing through the saran wrap and plastic bottle that I tried. It blurred a little through swim goggles, but the pics were blech. Moving the camera slightly has worked best. So, this is moving the camera. I added the seventies look (with some help from Pioneer Woman actions, plus my own adjustments), because it looked like a scene that has been there for a long time. I love the look of blur, but here's to hoping that the next assignment is in focus!football 1979
UNC football from back in the day. I wonder who the 79 quarterback was? Taken with a 300 f 2.8 lens on kodachrome. Not much depth of field but goodness that lens is sharp!

The return of The Duke.
Wellington "The Duke" Mara passed away in October, 2005 at the age of 89 after dedicating 81 years to the New York Giants as an administrator, owner, and unwavering booster. In 1940, heeding the advice of influential team owners Tim Mara of the New York Giants and George Halas of the Chicago Bears, the NFL selected Wilson as the league's official football supplier. The following year, Wilson introduced a redesigned football and named it "The Duke" in honor of Mara's son, Wellington. The Duke stayed in play for nearly three decades until the NFL and AFL merged in 1969.
At the heart of sports history for almost a century, Wilson has been influential and intimately involved in shaping the games of tennis, golf, baseball, and American football. As the originator of breakthrough technologies, Wilson has produced legendary classics and earned world-wide legitimacy in each sport it participates in. The world's leading manufacturer of ball sports equipment, Wilson's core sports include tennis, baseball, American football, golf, basketball, softball, badminton, and squash.
