Dear Friends,

A particular alum at USD has expressed outrage that USD is hosting LGBT friendly events on campus. In accordance with California law and continuing to foster an inclusive community, USD administration has approved these events. You can read more about the events and why here.  Note: some of the comments in this article are hateful.

Unfortunately, some USD alum have retaliated in poor form, by threatening to stop donating, calling the President’s office, and sending emails.

Many of us are alums who have worked together at USD to ensure that our alma mater was an inclusive community.  Our jobs didn’t end as students. As alums, we have the responsibility to ensure USD remains a place for everyone.

Here are some ways you can help:

1)      Send an email and thank them. In your communication tell President Lyons and the USD administration that (A) you are alum. (B) That you appreciate what they are trying to do to make USD an inclusive place for every member of the USD community. Send an email to president@sandiego.edu and copy aUSD4everyone@gmail.com

2)      Make a call with the same message! You can call at (619)-260-4520. Remember to tell them (A) you are alum. (B) That you appreciate what they are trying to do to make USD an inclusive place for every member of the USD community.

3)      Consider making a donation to USD by clicking here– even if just for $5 dollars. It will ask you “What prompted you to give online?”  (A) Type in the “other box”  (B) Type the message:  Keep USD a place for EVERYONE

Thank you for all you do!
