On behalf of Chinese American Semiconductor Professional Associate (华美半导体协会 CASPA) I would like to invite you to join our Austin Chapter. Our chapter has been founded for more than a decade. During last decade, we have organized or co-sponsored many interesting events for Chinese semiconductor/high tech industries professionals at Austin, events including job fairs, networking events, cruise, seminars, etc. These events were well received. To meet the growing need of our community, this year, we have established a new organization and are ready to serve you with even greater passion.

CASPA Introduction

Since its founding in 1991, Chinese American Semiconductor Professional Association (CASPA) has developed into the largest Chinese American semiconductor professional organization worldwide. Headquartered in Silicon Valley, California, CASPA has 9 local chapters wordwide: Austin & Dallas Texas; Phoenix Arizona; Portland Oregon; HsinChu Taiwan, Pearl River Delta (Hong Kong, ShenZhen, Guangzhou), Shanghai, Beijing and Singapore. Currently CASPA has more than four thousands individual members covering multiple disciplines. Most of them are semiconductor professionals working in Silicon Valley, Southern California, Oregon, Washington, Arizona, Texas, New York, China, Taiwan, and Singapore. CASPA also has more than 70 corporate sponsors, including EDA, design, IDM, foundry, packaging/testing, venture capital, science and technology development parks, legal and financial service companies located in the United States, Taiwan, Hongkong, China, Singapore and Japan. CASPA also forms alliance with other Silicon Valley associations to cross promote welfare and events within members of CASPA and alliances. In addition, CASPA has strong alliance base with 3 globally influential professional organizations SEMI, GSA and IEEE. CASPA also has media alliance with SingTao Daily, WorldJournal.com, DingdingTV, 99people and Tritiger media.


Austin Chapter Duty

  1. Provide networking platform and business expansion for the benefit of corporate sponsors and individual members.
  2. Promote technology innovation in the Semiconductor and related high tech industries; bridge the communication in technology and business development between Pacific Regions of US and Asia within the professional community.
  3. Facilitate collaboration and communication among professionals and companies in the semiconductor and related industries in forms of Symposiums, workshops, delegation trips and publications. Assist corporate members in talent recruiting and individual members in career development with job fairs.
  4. Promote the brand and welfare of the corporate and individual members. Strengthen the professional bond between corporate member and individual members, and increase their public image, professionalism and influence.

Haoxing Ren is the Chairman of CASPA Austin Chapter. He is also a Research Staff Member at IBM T. J Watson Research Center. His research interest includes architecture/high-level synthesis, software/hardware co-design, logic synthesis and physical design for high performance circuits. He has received multiple IBM Outstanding Technical Achievement Award and Research Division Outstanding Achievement Awards for his works in design automation area. He has co-authored several book chapters, published many technical papers, and holds more than 10 patents. He is an IEEE senior member and has served as the Chair of IEEE Central Texas Solid State Circuit and Circuit and System joint chapter, which received 2011 Best Chapter Award. He received his B.S. and M. Eng. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, M.S. degree in computer engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and PhD in Computer Engineering at University of Texas at Austin.
