Rob is the Director of Communications at Americans United and is the editor of Church & State magazine. He has recently published his fourth book, “Taking Liberties: Why Religious Freedom Doesn’t Give You the Right to Tell Other People What to Do” which he discussed at this event. This book illustrates how the religious freedom guaranteed in the First Amendment is an individual right, rather than a license allowing organizations and businesses to discriminate against and control others.

Rob has written this book because he “was concerned that a noble principle designed to protect individual freedom was being warped into an instrument of mass oppression.”
