Pack Meeting this Thursday 9/26

posted Sep 22, 2013, 4:59 PM by Audubon Pack

Just a reminder that our first pack meeting will be this Thursday 9/26. It is important that as many of the parents as possible are in attendance as we need to make some decisions regarding adult leadership for this upcoming year.
If you are planning on being part of the pack this year, but cannot attend this pack meeting, kindly respond to this email, so that I know to plan for you.
I've had a bit of a challenge getting flyers into the Wednesday envelope, so I do apologize for that, and I will keep trying to get that arranged for a later date. (we may well end up doing a membership drive in October for this reason)

Parents, we need your help!

posted Aug 31, 2013, 5:50 PM by Audubon Pack

For the upcoming year Pack 131 is in need of:

Committee Members: The committee meets monthly and does all the behind the scenes planning for the pack.

Cub Master and Assistant Cub Master: The cub master (and the assistant) are responsible for the monthly pack meeting, activities during our Fall and Spring Camping, the Ceremony during our Blue & Gold Banquet, and is generally the face of the Pack leadership to the scouts. (ie, emceeing all of our events)

Assistant Committee Chair/ Committee Chair for next year: The committee chair is the "first among equals" who leads the pack committee. Once the Blue & Gold is done, the committee chair switches to preparing for the next year, at which point, I will be basically done. I'd like to spend the year training someone to take over leading the committee, so that we have a good transition for next year.

Awards Chair:
Our Awards Chair coordinates with our den leaders to determine what awards need to be purchased each month, purchases the awards, hands them out at the monthly pack meeting, and registers them on the scouting website.

4th of July Parade info

posted Jun 28, 2013, 12:30 PM by Audubon Pack

Just a reminder that Pack 131 will be marching in Audubon's 4th of July Parade this year.

Line up begins at 7:45 at the corner of Amherst and Harvard. (Potty breaks will be available at the Matthews residence at 18 Harvard)

Please wear your uniform and shorts.

Parade starts at 8:30, and we're near the front, so we'll be moving pretty quickly.

For those parents who cannot or do not wish to march with us, we will be waiting by the Little league refreshment stands after we are done marching in the parade for 30 minutes. At which point we will be retracing our steps back to our starting position.

Redbank Outing Postponed

posted May 24, 2013, 4:44 PM by Audubon Pack

It's looking like it will be wet again tomorrow, and even if it isn't it will be chilly, so we're going to postpone the Redbank outing. I am unavailable next weekend, so I was thinking we might try again for June 9th at 2:00 pm (a bit later to allow those who attend Church to make it.)

Red Bank Battlefield Park 5/25

posted May 21, 2013, 1:25 PM by Audubon Pack

Folks have been asking for more information regarding our visit to battlefield park this Saturday. This is planned as a very low key event. I'm sure we'll have several who cannot make it due to baseball games and/or other Spring craziness. Basically if you've never been, Red Bank Battlefield park is a revolutionary war site that is now a Gloucester county park. There's a monument to the battle, a house (James and Ann Whitall House) which should be open and can be toured. Playground, walking paths, flush toilets and it's across the river from the airport, so you can even watch the planes landing. The plan is to meet around the parking lot between 1:00 and 1:30, and for folks to group up and explore as they please. There is no real plan for activities. Feel free to bring snacks, Frisbees, whiffleball,  etc... Right now, the weather is looking cool but dry, so we should be able to have an enjoyable time.
