For years the citizens of Raytown have stated they desire an audit of the City by the State. This can be no more clear than the most recent ballot issues. Many residents are concerned with how money has been spent and where it is all going. Many are concerned with the policies and procedures for good governance not being followed. To instill confidence in our local governance and to bolster it's reputation it is necessary and time for a full Audit according to GAO principals and best practices. An Audit will show where money is and isn't going, it will also analyze efficiencies and procedures. Making this government more efficient and accountable will increase confidence and allow for the citizens to trust that any additional revenue will go for the stated purposes and be used by good stewards. Recent communities across Missouri have called for an audit (including the entire board and mayor of Columbia, after their tax measures failed).
