AHS Scholarship Site

Please READ Carefully:

Attention Students: If you will look on the left-hand side of the page, you will see three scholarship categories: Local, National, and State. Clicking on each category will showcase scholarship opportunities within that domain. The state and national scholarships may be applied to using the embedded links provided on each; however, students will typically see Mr. Tindell in Office #1210 to pick-up scholarship applications within the local category. Please note the “open” and “close” dates for each opportunity—many of them are not yet reactivated. Scholarship opportunities remain posted from year-to-year, so students are able to “preview” what is coming…make a list and continue reviewing the site for renewed activation dates! No appointment is necessary to pick-up applications—just drop by (or email) and Mr. Tindell will take care of you.

Note: If a particular scholarship (i.e., one you may have heard about and/or encountered) is NOT listed on our school website, then we have no applications and/or additional information to provide. It is suggested that you seek to apply to these scholarships via an online web link or portal as provided by the originating donor.

If you are asked to write a "Letter of Interest" for a scholarship, it should include the following: your name, where you are going to college, your future plans (major, career, etc.), and how you would benefit from receiving that particular scholarship.

If your application requires a letter of recommendation and/or nomination from a counselor, GPA verification, class rank, etc., please see Mr. Tindell, College Coordinator/IB Counselor, in Office #1210.

Please note: All official transcript requests must be made to Ms. Jackson, AHS Counseling Secretary, in the Counseling Center (Academic Building/1st floor).

Questions? Please contact Mr. Tindell: His office phone number is 334-887-0057; his email address is jetindell@auburnschools.org; he is located in Office #1210.

Achieve Alabama: The Alabama State Department of Education (ALSDE) and the Rotaract Club of Birmingham have partnered to launch the first state-specific scholarship database - AchieveAlabama.org.

Launched in conjunction with College Application Week, Achieve Alabama is an online scholarship resource providing students, educators, and parents with an effective scholarship search tool and college preparation resource that has the capability to guide students through the entire college admission process.

According to the Alabama Commission on Higher Education, in 2015, 50 percent of Alabama high school graduates were enrolled in an Alabama public university or college, but one third of those students never received any financial aid. Founded by the Rotaract Club of Birmingham and the non-profit College Admissions Made Possible (CAMP) and Cappex, to make scholarship funding more readily available to high school students across Alabama, the site aims to bridge the information gap on how students learn about, research, and ultimately receive scholarships.

The site is cost-free and is available to all high school students in the state. It houses thousands of university-specific and private scholarships. The site also focuses specifically on local scholarship dollars that are awarded each year by Alabama businesses and private foundations.

Registration for the site is free and voluntary, and all student data is secure and protected in accordance with applicable state and federal laws. No student information is ever provided to any third parties unless a student opts in to share information with colleges.
