Who am I?

I am a human being, who is curious to observe, learn, and share the joy of learning!

Do you relate?

What do I do?

I study the Earth’s oceans using observations, theory, and modeling. I am interested in understanding cascades of water at sea straits. The dense overflows through sea straits impact deep ocean circulation and ultimately the climate system.

Currently, I am a Postdoctoral Fellow at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center.

I am passionate about communicating my knowledge of ocean physics and its role in a changing climate through teaching, visualization, storytelling, and scientific debates! I love this so much that I proposed to teach my own course on a topic which has become increasingly important: Natural Hazards. I have communicated what I have learned from this experience at the teaching academy website. Also, see the Teaching Tab.

I love art; I do painting, and calligraphy. I also play Persian Setar a little bit. My artistic view allows me to illustrate the road map of my thoughts to come up with creative approaches in solving problems. Also, it helps me develop patience!
