Athletic Training Services

Who are we?

The Institute for Athletic Medicine (IAM) provides certified athletic trainers to Twin Cities metro area schools and for sporting events. In addition, IAM has provided athletic training services for the Women's World Hockey Championships, National Jr. Olympic Boys Gymnastic Competition, and exclusively for the Minnesota State High School League Championships.  Our athletic trainers have expertise and training in prevention, treatment and reconditioning athletic injuries.  Sports include football, soccer, volleyball, basketball, hockey, gymnastics and wrestling.  Some schools also cover softball, baseball and track.

What is Athletic Training?

Athletic training is practiced by athletic trainers (AT), health care professionals who collaborate with physicians to optimize activity and participation of patients and clients across age and care continuums.  Athletic training encompasses the prevention, diagnosis, and intervention of emergency, acute and chronic medical conditions involving impairment, functional limitations, and disabilities.
