How can I get involved?

How to Arrange a Mediation

Call the Athens Area Mediation Service at 740-594-6169. Tell us your concerns. Together we will assess whether the situation is appropriate for mediation and, if so, AAMS will contact the other people involved in the dispute to schedule a mediation session. Remember, mediation is a confidential and voluntary service. No one will be turned away because of inability to pay.

How to Refer a Case

Supervisors, social workers, or even friends and neighbors may know individuals in conflict who would benefit from mediation. Please call our office at 740-594-6169 to discuss in confidence.

How to Enroll in Training

The Athens Area Mediation Service sponsors intensive 15 hour training in mediation skills.  Those participating will learn to use the listening skills and thoughtfully structured approaches of mediation to respond to a wide variety of  conflict  situations.  Shorter training sessions are available from time to time.  To learn when training sessions are offered please check the calendar on the website or call our office at 740-594-6169.
